Old school management and leadership techniques were being questioned even before the pandemic, they are now being challenged everywhere. Companies must aim to be “the place where everyone wants to work” not just in terms of rewards or benefits…in terms of culture, respect and values.

The younger generation and the current social unrest proves people are looking for more from their leaders. Companies must change their culture to one that is more inclusive, honest and empathetic, truly people-focused. They must show how valuable their people are, recognise the return they provide, not just talk about it.

Many smaller businesses and young entrepreneurs lack the right kind of leadership training to survive. They need tailored but cost-effective learning and development tools.

Work is becoming an extension of our home life, we now invite our workplace and work colleagues into our homes. This changes the perspective and balance of power for employees.

Our Founder’s
story

After 20 years in leadership roles, I’ve done the job, walked in your shoes.

When I left the corporate world after two decades I wanted to do more than simply become another consultant – I read the testimonials from my many colleagues and the common thread was the value placed on my leadership style and approach. I realised my vision was right there…to challenge the current notion of leadership.

I created the REAL. Leadership consultancy and started working with smaller companies to gain more experience of the highs and lows of being an entrepreneur. Along with my colleagues, I now believe we have the full picture of how leaders should operate from start-up through to big industry. Regardless of the size of your business, how you act as a person AND leader every minute of every day will impact how your organisation grows over the coming months.

I spent 24 years in the world of consumer research and trends, constantly watching what people are doing and thinking, I’m proven in terms of commercial results – loving nothing more than winning against the odds! I am as tough and competitive as the next person, but I have a naturally empathetic leadership style, dedicated to the people I work with.

The global pandemic highlighted the lack of strong leadership in the world. Who stood out in the crisis? Who did people turn to for inspiration or support? Leaders who haven’t been genuine from the start, in all parts of society, are now being challenged…

Here at REAL. Leadership we’re very aware that we don’t have all the answers, but we are crystal clear on the role a leader plays in achieving long-lasting and real success for any business. Our aim is to create a network of like-minded people to bring about REAL. leadership change and make this happen.
