Corinna Cunningham, Ghostwriter & Book Mentor, explains why we should all be considering writing our first book. Find out more if you like the idea of writing a book but don’t know where to start.

A book is a trusted tool that people have used for thousands of years to spread new messages, introduce new ideas, and build trust.

Today, we still use books in the same way and they are perfect for growing a business, recording a legacy and creating that much needed change in the world.

As a ghostwriter, I help people do just that.

I work with individuals who have ideas, stories and expertise but who just don’t have the time, or inclination, to sit down and write. Ghostwriters do the hard work for you, so you can continue to focus on what truly matters to you.

If you like the idea of writing a book but don’t know where to start, here is my advice to you.

Always start with the end in mind.

You need to know what goals you want your book to achieve so you can reverse-engineer the topics and themes you need to include, and how you will measure its success.

There is no point in writing a book if it does not achieve a goal.

And you do that by:

Creating change in your reader.

Your book must be worth the investment of their time, money and attention so choose a structure and format that will help spark that transformation for them and make your book worth their while.

And finally, you want to think about how you will create trust.

The requirements of creating trust are different for different audiences. Some might need to see evidence, data and research. Others might need to hear a personal story that proves you understand their situation.

How will you build trust in your audience?

When you write a book, these are the kinds of things that will help you build a solid foundation for a book that will truly make an impact.
